Gus at Van’s indicated that the configuration of the carburetor might be such that a bushing is not required. I did away with the bushing and the cable has a much straighter shot to the carburetor. I installed the prop governor with some trouble at first. I had to cut the safety wire, loosen the 6 screws and reposition the lever arm. A couple of trial runs, meaning installing about 3 times, I safety wired the 6 screws and installed the governor. I installed the exhaust system but will send an email to Vans to get some clarity on the angle the pipes should to the centerline of the fuselage. The instructions indicate hanging them at an angle of 25 degrees relative to the belly of the plane but nothing about how close to the nose gear. I also have 4 extra and different gaskets for the exhaust and I don’t know why. This item of confusion will also be discussed in my email. There is a small exhaust hanging kit that still needs to be installed but I will wait for Van’s clarification of my email.
