Today I nearly finished off the canopy latch system. I countersunk the C-712 angles and riveted into place. I installed the latch handle and the spring that attaches to the main spar bulkhead. I also installed the aft canopy latch by drilling the UHMW blocks to the bulkheads. I had to back-drill through the holes in the bulkheads just slightly to mark the position, which I finished on the drill press. When I went to reinstall the blocks and WD-617 canopy latch I discovered the fingers of the latch rub a little bit in the oval holes of the F-705 bulkhead. The blocks must have moved slightly during the drilling process. I filed just a tiny bit off the tips of the fingers and the problem was solved. I twisted the C-606 links to the proper position relative to the C-605.
