Brief Description:  Filtered air box

I bent up the VA-131B to match the air inlet of the bottom cowl. That operation required a sharp flute on each side of the bend line. I drilled the VA-131B to the fiberglass box with the filter install 1/16 of an inch above the VA-131B so that when it is installed to the VA-131C it will get compressed for an airtight fit. I also removed the carb drain plug and installed the pipe plug as instructed to do. I had bought a new VA-131C and retrimmed everything to make a tighter fit around the carb. I installed the carb heat door, which requires hinges, and spacers to be drilled into the door along with the VA-122 arm. The door that I fabricated is too small and does not seal the inlet area completely, so I am going to rivet a larger piece of .040 aluminum better shape to fit the inlet area. I need to get some .040 from Spruce Aircraft. I also installed the filter bypass door which requires cutting a 2 11/16 hole in the bottom being careful of the filter position and installing the VA-192A as called out in the instructions. I used some tank sealant to seal the VA-192A and riveted it to the fiberglass box. I have to stop and wait for the black death to dry before going any further.
