Today I riveted the rudder pedal brace to the firewall stiffener. I also attempted to install the firewall recess using Red RTV around the perimeter. I located the recess with clecos and then decided to install the AN525 screws to hold the recess tighter to allow the RTV to dry. In the process I stripped the nutplate behind the screw and hurried to remove the recess that had RTV smeared all over it. I quickly drilled out the nutplate and installed another. I relocated the recess and will rivet it tomorrow after the Red RTV had dried.
