Today I installed the left aileron using the small jig to set the neutral position. I went to home depot to buy a 4 foot long strip of metal to align the trailing edge of the aileron. This strip gets bolted to the tooling holes in the main rib and the ailerons get lined up in the center of this strip of metal. The fine adjustments are made on the rod end bearings. I also made the necessary spacers from the tubing Van’s supplies; I even went so far as to prime the spacers. During the coming week I think I can get to the right aileron and maybe the flaps. The wings are looking good.
