Welcome to my experimental aircraft web site. This site will chronicle the construction of a kit-built, standard gear Sonex which will have an 80HP AeroVee engine and dual sticks. The specs are: Wing span 22’ Stall speed (full flaps) 40mph Empty weight 610 lbs Cruise speed (@8000’) 150mph Useful load 480 lbs Take off distance 400 ft Landing distance 500’ Range 550 miles I plan to also get my Sport Pilot license while I build this. While I think flying this will be great, I really look forward to the build process. Ordered the kit on 2/8/2009 Received the kit on 3/12/2009 Finished the empennage on 4/1/2009 75.5 hours Finished the wings on 7/8/2009 289.5 hours Received my Sport Pilot license on 3/26/2010 36.2 hours Finished the Engine on 5/2/2010 78 hours First Engine start 6/26/2010 Finished the fuselage on x/x/x 664 hours so far(7/17/2010) First flight x/x/x
