Sonex 815 Build Logs
I have been unable to update this log from 2010-01-10. Please see www.spoonworld.com for updates. Build time at first flight (9/28/08): 1243.5 hours Wing: 372 hours* - Spars 62.5 - Ribs 63.5 - Assembly 97 - Control surfaces 36.5 - Misc 112.5 *tip ribs installed, no lights Empennage: 135 hours - H-stab 80.5* - V-stab 38* - install tail / fairings 16.5 *includes control surfaces and polishing Fuselage: 444 hours* *includes canopy, panel Misc: 292.5 hours - Workshop 14 - Gear/fuel/brakes/engine/controls/cowling 223 - Wiring/avionics 55.5 Construction of N815EC began in April 2005, but with a move, it didn't really get started until August. There are a few entries prior to that based on parts left over from my previous Sonex project (www.spoonworld.com). Airworthiness certificate issued 9/14/08. Options include standard tailwheel landing gear, dual control sticks, lowered seat mod, and Jabiru 3300 power. Avionics are a King com and xpdr. Engine is monitored with MGL Avionics E1 engine monitor. Flight instruments are a few steam gauges. This was built from plans and not a kit, though I have sourced components from Sonex.
