Short Description: Right Side Horizontal Stabilizer
|
I made my first mistake on the project, so now I'll have to wait for new parts to be shipped in. I must have made a little mistake on measurements. When I drilled through my guide hole, I came out right on the edge of one of the stiffeners (Image #2 and #3). A minimum of 1/4 inch edge distance is required. I'm hoping these parts aren't too expensive.
Other than that, I made some decent progress, even though it will probably have to be repeated. I got the skin on the right side, and match drilled some of the holes.
On a side note, Van's Aircraft's webpage was just updated, and is really nice. Now I can order all replacement parts due to mistakes online. Really glad they added the online store.

Left and right horizontal stabilizers with the skins on.

The mistake. The hole is drilled to close to the edge on the bottom stiffener.
